Juice Right

Have you ever juiced veggies and fruits before ? It has definitely been a phenomenon in the past and there are some mixed review about it. There is a time and place for complete juicing (otherwise known as juice cleanse). When you remove all food from the diet and only consume natural vegetable and fruit juices the body does not have to work at breaking food down to be absorbed - juice is absorbed within 15 minutes of consumption!

Getting pure, organic vegetable juice is a great way to supplement some of the servings that are required each day. For a base try celery or cucumber (high water content), then juice the dark green leafy lettuces and orange vegetables. Adding ginger, lemon, an apple or orange will jazz up the juice and make it really tasty. Be aware of how much fruit is added – its important to keep the priority on vegetables as fruit contains a lot of sugar and can cause damaging outcomes if juiced too often.

Green Lemonade:

· 1 green apple

· 5 large celery stalks

· 1 cucumber

· 5 stalks kale

· ½ bunch parsley

· 1-2 lemons (depending on how lemon-y you like)

Mean Green:

· 1 cucumber

· 2 celery stalks

· 6 kale leaves

· ½ lemon

· 1 green apple

· 1 inch ginger

Green Garden

· 2 cucumbers

· 8 kale leaves

· 2 green apples

· ½ bunch parsley

The Cleanser

· 1 cucumber

· 3 carrots

· ½ large beet

· 1 lemon

Citrus Greens

· 8 kale leaves

· 6 Swiss chard leaves

· 1 cucumber

· 4 Clementine’s
